In the bathroom the bad dudes
are putting money on Ali & Kenny Norton
up & down the row of stalls
little coveys of guys with tiny radios
callin out the blow by blow:

I listen to all this while I'm pissing
& the national anthem's playing outside
then make it back up thru the hot dog line
to catch the first inning, grinning,
my heart tells me Vida will shut out Kansas City tonight.
He goes right ahead & does it before my eyes.
